Kickoff Day will be held at Holy Innocents High School from 9:30am – 12:30pm
Practice time: 12pm – 2pm
Program Information
The BlazeSports Wheelchair Basketball program is a program open to a wide range of physical disabilities including spina bifida, cerebral palsy, limb amputations, traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
All athletes play in a wheelchair. BlazeSports provides the sport chair if the athlete does not have their own.
Athletes are required to be able to push themselves down the court unassisted. Athletes are also required to be able to transfer themselves to their sport chair.
The Prep Division this year will have two teams. One developmental recreational team, another more competitive team.
Developmental recreational team: Team will practice each week throughout the season and then compete in 1-2 tournaments within the southeast region. This team is targeted toward players newer to the game needing to develop basic game skills and work on teamwork and chair skills.
Competitive Team: Team will practice each week throughout the season and then compete in 4-5 tournaments within the region. This team is targeted to more experienced players looking to develop more advanced skills and compete at a higher level.
Dates: August 2015 – April 2016

Program Information

The varsity team is a competitive team that will practice 1 day per week and compete in 5-6 tournaments within the region and nationally throughout the season.
All athletes play using a wheelchair. BlazeSports is able to loan the sport chair if the athlete does not have their own.
