This will be the 4th year of the PDX Summer Handcycling Series. The PDX Summer Handcycling Series is a weekly program that allows cyclists on the track at Portland International Raceway (PIR) to ride for two hours. This open and safe environment encourages new cyclists to come out and familiarize themselves with the sport and its healthy effects. Veteran riders also come out to PIR so that they can train on the two-mile track and mentor the newcomers to the sport.
Handcycling is a great way to get out and explore your community and get a work out in. It’s a rapidly growing sport accessible to anyone. ODS has a number of handcycles for people to try at different times through out the year.
Adaptive Bike Clinic: Early June each year we co-host one of the largest adaptive bike clinics in the Northwest. During this day you can try out any type of adaptive bike from multiple organizations
PDX Handcycling Series: Every Tuesday, July – September we co-host this handcycling series at Portland International Raceway from 4:30 – 6:30. This is a great way to try out any number of handcycles on a closed, 2 mile course.
Keep On Moving!: This monthly, year round program provides you a chance to try out handcycles (along with other types of adaptive sports equipment). See details on our Keep On Moving! program page.
Unfortunately handcycles are very expensive and are difficult to find in a store to try out. We have a collection of bikes for you to try and use.
Some of the models that we have are:
Top End XLT
Top End Excelerator-adult and junior
Top End Force
Top End Force G
Top End Force 2
