Please join Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey in honoring our country’s wounded warriors and their families at the 6th Annual Honoring America’s Wounded Warriors dinner on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 6:30pm at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City
Today, there are more severely wounded troops needing support than since the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan began. In fact, the Pentagon’s 2011 Medical Surveillance Monthly Report, reports that more than twice as many troops lost one or more limbs in 2011 than in 2009.
The funds raised through this dinner directly support severely wounded warriors in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by providing sports rehabilitation. Since 2003, the lives of over 4,800 severely wounded warriors and families have been rebuilt through Disabled Sports USA’s Warfighters Sports program through over 500 events in 20 different sports.
All sports programs are provided at no cost to the warrior and his or her family member. This includes individualized instruction by trained adaptive sports instructors, adaptive sports equipment, meals, lodging, transportation and event fees.
Your support at this dinner will help us to continue providing sports rehabilitation at no cost to over 1,000 wounded warriors as well as their families.
