Summer Sports Program

Disabled SpDare 2 Triorts USA supports more than 75 events and ongoing programs throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall through its nationwide chapter network.  This calendar of events, called

SummerFest, provides low-cost adaptive sports opportunities to youth, adults and wounded warriors with disabilities in more than 30 different sports ranging from golf and cycling to waterskiing and kayaking. It is the only program of its kind, providing youth and adults with disabilities across the country with state-of-the-art instruction, adaptive equipment and opportunities to compete in a variety of athletic events.

To view a list of all of the summer adaptive sports our chapters provide, and learn what you need to get started in that activity, please visit the adaptive sports resources section of our website.

To find a SummerFest event near you and the appropriate program contact, please visit our calendar of events, or email events@dsusa.org.

The Warfighter Sports summer event calendar is filled with a variety of events that are free of charge for veterans and active duty service members with a permanent physical disability and their family members.  To view the latest  calendar of events, please visit the Warfighter Sports section of our website.

Throughout the summer, Disabled Sports USA is proud to partner with the Bureau of Land Management to be able to offer kayaking and rafting trips on some of the most highly sought after public waters, particularly in Utah.  These trips, put on my Disabled Sports USA’s chapters, allow severely injured service members and veterans to experience the beauty and serenity of America’s public lands.

In addition to providing grants to local chapter programs for the purchase of adaptive sports equipment, Disabled Sports USA also works with national sports bodies to provide training for recreation instructors as part of our Adapt2Achieve educational series.  These webinars, chapter-led trainings and conferences ensure that Disabled Sports USA chapters continue to provide safe, effective programming for their clients with disabilities.

The conference is available to chapter representatives and members of the adaptive sports community and will include adaptive sports training clinics as well as administrative training sessions.  To learn more about Adapt2Achieve, or to register for the conference, please visit the Adapt2Achieve section of our website.
