Winter Sports Program

Founded in 1967 as the National Amputee Skiers Association, Disabled Sports USA has always had winter sports at its core.  Currently our Ski Tour Calendar of Events hosts more than 75 programs focusing on youth, wounded warriors and instructor training put on by our nationwide chapter network.  To find an event near you and the appropriate program contact, please visit our calendar of events.

Youth Programs


Designed as a stepping stone for aspiring Alpine, Snowboard and Nordic racers, the E-team is a scholarship program for youth ages 13-24 designed  to Elevate and Empower them to compete at the best of their ability.  Racers on the E-team are provided with support for training and competitions.  For more information on the E-team, please contact Kyleen Davis at kdavis@dsusa.org.

As a part of ensuring that Disabled Sports USA’s chapter network continues to provide the highest quality adaptive sports programs available, we strive to ensure that all of our instructors have continuous opportunities for training and certification.  Training programs are sponsored through Disabled Sports USA’s Adapt2Achieve program.

Warfighter Sports Programs

The Hartford Ski Spectacular

Now in its 27th year, Disabled Sports USA’s The Hartford Ski Spectacular is one of the nation’s largest adaptive sports festivals for people with disabilities.  Hosted at the beginning of December every year and offering programs that include a week-long race camp, learn-to ski, snowboard, sled hockey, curling and Nordic/biathlon lessons, continuing education clinics and social/networking events, The Hartford Ski Spectacular has something for everyone.
