Adapt2Achieve, a program of Disabled Sports USA, provides adaptive sports education and training to community chapters and partners.

 Team River Runner Adaptive Paddling Conference 
June 6-13, 2015  Deep Creek, MD

Does your organization run an adaptive kayaking program? Do you use kayaking as a form of recreation therapy for your patients with disabilities? Whether you are an experienced service provider or just starting out, this conference will teach you the ins and outs of adaptive kayaking– from maintenance and modifications, to  successful tips on organizing an adaptive kayaking program. Thanks to instruction from industry leaders, you’ll learn how to safely and successfully use adaptive kayaking for therapy, sport, and fun.
Who: Chapters of Team River Runner and Disabled Sports USA, VA and military therapeutic professionals, and other members of the adaptive sports industry. Registration is  limited to 50 individuals. Organizations are limited to two attendees per facility/chapter.
What: Six days of hands-on adaptive paddling training and seminars with opportunities to obtain First Aid/CPR e-card, ACA Endorsement, ACA Instructor Card, or basic adaptive flatwater training using multiple paddle sport crafts. Click here for a complete conference agenda and session descriptions.
Where: Conference sessions will take place at Garret College, Adventure Sports Center International, and Deep Creek Lake State Park, all located in McHenry, MD. Participants will be staying in the Laker Hall dorms of of Garrett College. Lodging and meals are included with registration.
When: Attendees will arrive on Saturday, June 6 for a welcome reception. Conference sessions will take place on Sunday, June 7 through Thursday, June 11 with a conference wrap-up and free day Friday, June 12. Participants depart either Friday evening or Saturday morning, June 13. Airport shuttles will be provided from Pittsburgh International Airport to the dorm on Saturday June 6 at 4:00pm and from the dorm to the airport on Saturday, June 13 at 7:00am. Please note: airport is approximately two hours from conference venue.
Fees: The Adaptive Paddling Conference is offered free of charge to chapters of Team River Runner and Disabled Sports USA. Individuals are responsible for transportation to and from Deep Creek, MD or Pittsburgh International Airport. All meals, lodging and participation in conference sessions are free of charge.
